The Sharpie, as my Dad calls them, is an accipiter, which means that, despite his tiny (crow size) stature, he is a fearsome predator. This tiny hawk can cause far more panic at a birdfeeder, among the chickadees, than a Red Tailed Hawk nearby. The little birds know they are faster and more maneuverable than a Red Tail. But the Sharpie can shoot through a dense tree at full speed, maneuvering easily, and with deadly accuracy.

This bead is about 1 ¼ inches tall, and the hole runs from the top of the head to the bottom. The wooden stand in the photo is a small stand made for me by an artist in Virginia. His stands are also available thru this site, so checkout my store for stand options.

If you are a jewelry maker, then imagine the possibilities in a necklace, with this petite tough guy as a central pendant, or in-line in an asymmetrical piece, with the bird to one side. Consider him on a choker for a special man.

I think this Sharp-Shinned Hawk wearable glass sculpture is inspiring, regal, and magnetic.
If you purchase him, and don't agree with me, then return the artwork for a full refund, including your shipping costs. I'm confident that when you open your order, you'll experience the same excitement that you have for the wild ones.
