First manufactured in 1953, the Windlite was the first flip-top lighter Ronson officially issued to directly compete with the increasing popular Zippo. Though it functions much like a Zippo, the Windlite does not have a pull-out insert. It features a removable bottom plate, held in place using an interesting rubber gasket and tension screw mechanism. Loosen the bottom screw (See picture 5) and the plate removes, exposing the flint and the bright red refueling chambers. The curved, steel body of the Windlite is a bit thicker and heftier than Zippos.

This model has a beautiful brushed chrome body with a shiny chrome top. The lid snaps tightly closed and matches up perfectly to the outer case. It makes a distinctive sound when it is opened and closed very much like a Zippo.

This lighter is being sold in LIKE NEW condition. It looks like someone bought this and put it away for years without ever using it. . The previous owner took exceptional care of it.

This pocket lighter has a brand new flint, it sparks great, it just needs to be filled with fluid.

A wonderful addition to your collection, as a display piece, or as a unique gift.
