Sometimes you're just stuck with someone. That is how these owls feel. During the final glaze firing, they inadvertently got pushed together and they became connected by a considerable amount of glaze. Normally I separate pieces like this and I am able to grind and save one of them - usually one of them ends up in the mosaic bin. In this case the expressions on the owls are priceless, so I am selling them as is at a seconds and damaged price - even though they are otherwise just fine.

This owl is 2 inches tall ( 5cm) inches tall at the top of her head and 2 1/4 (6 cm) inches across both owls.

This item will ship 1st class usps both domestically and international. I ship 1-2 times a week due to a premium on my space. I am truly a one person studio, so please be patient with me, I promise the slight wait is worth it.

This piece was pinched entirely by hand from porcelain clay. After a bisque firing, the pieces are each hand painted with washes of underglaze, much as someone would use watercolors. After painting, each piece is dipped in clear glaze and then fired to ~2200F/1200C. The entire process for a kiln load takes 2-3 weeks.

This owl fiasco was completed on June 11,2012 and was one of 106 pieces in the firing. It is signed and dated on the bottom.
