The Hubley Manufacturing Company was first incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by John Hubley. The first Hubley toys appeared in 1909 and were made of cast-iron, with styles that ranged from horse drawn vehicles and dogs, to tractors and guns (Smitsonian Institution, website).

This taxi driver or police officer, has a very rusty cool looking patina going on. It is one piece and has both a knob on the stirring wheel and also one coming out of his behind to place on the car. It measures 2 3/4 in tall and 1 in wide.

It can be used to restore a Hubley toy or for your mixed media needs.
