This is a handmade and calibrated wooden 1/3 cup measure carved from a single thick piece of American Black Cherry. Free shipping till the end of July. 5 inches long and 2 7/8 inches wide. I had a request for a half cup measure carved in the style of our tadpole coffee scoop. I was hollowing it out and realized I wasn't going to make it to 98 grams of sugar, which equals 1/2 cup. I had not started out with a wide enough blank. I got it to 65 grams, or 1/3 cup and decided I was making a 1/3 cup measure instead. I really really like this design. It has the same style of handle as our tadpole measure with the dimple in the top of the handle for your thumb and it will look nice lying out in the kitchen or stored with the flour in a large glass jar as one of my customers does with hers. There is a beautiful pattern of concentric rings in the bowl. Finished with beeswax and mineral oil.

This utensil is "pre-washed" so to speak. The grain has been raised with water during the finishing process to remove any loose fiber ends so the spoon will remain smooth after you use it.

Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and apply some mineral oil or walnut oil every couple of weeks or you can buy some of our spoon oil finish which is Beeswax and mineral oil. A 4 oz. jar lasts for a long time and it will help to keep your spoon looking and feeling good for many years.
