Queen Victoria horse brass 1870. This horse brass has the letters VR (Victoria Regina) with a crown between and 1870 cut out of it. The horse brass doesn't seem to commemorate anything of note from 1870, William Gladstone was prime minister and Charles Dickens died amongst other things. Also, women were allowed to keep their earnings for the first time!

The horse brass measures just under 3ins (7.5cm) wide and is 3½ins (9cm) from top to bottom. It is in good condition for its age with some signs of wear but no damage.

The last photo shows this horse brass with two others.
