This is a beautiful antique French embroidered linen and lace panel. The linen panel is stitched onto another piece of linen, this time a creamy linen when the original panel is white. The creamy section is across the top and on both sides of the original panel. The original panel has beautiful white open work embroidery and a lace trim running along the hem edge. It also has a row of drawn thread work running along the hem edge and up both sides.

It would make a super valance for a window. You could use the additional cream linen that is attached to line it with. There are 3 sections of the openwork embroidery running along the length of the panel and inbetween there are further little sections as per photograph 2. The linen is in fabulous condition with no holes or tears. There are just two small rust spots - one on each side of the original panel and as shown in the last two photographs. I have not treated the rust spots and in fact have not laundered the panel, so these little spots will greatly reduce or disappear completely with treatment.

The measurements are as follows: Complete Panel: 78" wide by 26¼" deep. Original Panel: 57" by 16".
