This lovely pair of vintage white porcelain trinket dishes is hand-painted with bunches of pink roses, surrounded by gilt stalks of grain. The leaf edges are also gilded. The pair would look beautiful on an antique vanity, holding various jewels, or in an old-fashioned glass case. They’re great for holding candy or petit fours! They are quite shiny.

The bottom of each dish is marked with a blue pair of crosses arrows, and a four-digit number that looks like 7431; the 1 is not very clear. I believe the dishes are Japanese reproductions of Bavarian porcelain, most likely made for the Arnart company, which was based in New York, in the 1950s or early ‘60s.

Each dish measures 11 inches (28 cm) by 4 inches (10cm), and stands about 1 inch (2.4cm) high. They are in excellent condition.
