Honey Locust is a pretty salmon colored wood that usually grows in the eastern half of the United States. Because of the name I think it's a fitting wood to use for this type of item, don't you?

A honey dipper (also known as a honey stick or honey drizzler) is a utensil used to serve honey in a controlled manner. When held vertically and dipped into a jar the grooved end holds honey and stops it from dripping all over the edges of the container. When tipped horizontally the honey easily slides from the grooves onto bread or in your cup of tea.

Is there any advantage to using one of these over a regular spoon? Not really, to be honest. Spoons work great for serving honey as well as being useful for a myriad of other things as well. But do you want your kitchen or dining area to be classy? Put a cute handmade honey dipper in that honey jar. They're so rarely seen these days that they make a great conversational point with guests. And they're adorable too, let's not forget that!

Still not convinced? The use of wood utensils has a few practical advantages over plastic and metal counterparts as well. Wood has antibacterial properties that stop the growth of nasty little microbes. So although they are slightly more difficult to clean, they are more sanitary overall. Metal and plastic also tend to leave behind a metallic or plastic taste in foods; wood, on the other hand, will not.

Each honey dipper is carefully wrapped and sent in a padded envelope. A care instruction card will be included.
