English Castle Vintage Dinner Plate Haddon Hall Derbyshire Meakin Ironstone

I found this pretty vintage plate while I was out hunting for the glass which I use in my "outdoor art".
I couldn't resist bringing it home. Isn't it delightful?

The condition is very nice and this is a dinner size plate about 10" in diameter.
The back is marked Romantic England Derbyshire

It features "Haddon Hall" which dates from the 11th Century.
According to legend a woman named Dorothy Vernon eloped from Haddon Hall with a man named John Manners who was heir to the Earld of Rutland in the 16th Century.
The back of the plate tells me the above information!

Made by Meakin England and it is "Dishwasher Proof" so it must be from the last 50 years.

I do not find any chips, nicks, cracks, repairs or signs of excessive wear. Appears to have been used for display only.

I thank you for your interest and invite you to view my other items.
I am always happy to combine shipping if it is reasonable to do so.

Have a great day!
