This hand drawn Narwhal Calligram is screenprinted in white ink on blue cotton and fused to a sturdy interfacing, so the card is quite firm, not floppy. At the back is muslin, the edges are satin stitched.

Dimensions are 4 x 6 in / 10 x 15 cm.

A calligram, according to Wikipedia, is 'a word in which the typeface, calligraphy or handwriting is arranged in a way that creates a visual image'.

A narwhal is a medium-sized toothed whale that lives in the Arctic. It has a long, straight, helical tusk, which is actually an elongated upper tooth. Medieval Europeans who saw narwhal tusks believed them to be unicorn horns.

You could use this print as a postcard for someone special - just write on the back with a Sharpie or gel pen. Or display it as a small work of art, in a frame or as is.
