Beautiful vintage Kuchi camel set is traditionally worn as a dance necklace, slung over one shoulder, in the Pashtun tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Unique piece is made of vintage bead work, cotton fabric, metallic thread, pom-poms, old coins, tassels, coins and dangles. Completely hand made item. You could convert it into a belt for tribal belly dance, film or theater costume projects. Piece could be adapted for use as horse jewelry. Medium to heavy weight.

COLOR: As shown in the photo. Actual colors may vary depending on your monitor.

SIZE: Dimensions are approximate. Main strap measures 48" (122 cm) long from end to end. Ends are tied in a knot. Top of strap measures 32 1/2" (82.5 cm) long as tied. Yellow beaded panel with coins 9 1/2" (24 cm) across. Three large pendants 4" (10 cm) x 5" (12.5 cm). Tassels 6" (15.2 cm) long. Coins 1" (2.5 cm) diameter.

COMPOSITION: Cotton, glass, metallic thread, base metal alloy containing copper, brass and other metals.

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. Some trim, glass or dangles may be imperfect, mismatched or missing. You will need to mend strap in a few areas - see last photo. Piece is very old and needs a good cleaning. Metal contains grime, patina and oxidation. From Northwest Pakistan, circa late 20th century.
