Washington Irving is best known for his short stories set in the Catskills of New York State, especially The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip van Winkle. However, he was a widely travelled writer who spent an extended amount of Spain. When travelling to Granada, he fell in love with the region and its people. The Alhambra was written as a result. A blend of legend, fact, travelogue and original short stories, it is his homage to a beautiful region and a marvelous read.

This copy is ex-library in good vintage condition. Printed in 1953, the pages have mild age tanning and signs of normal reading wear. Pages are tightly bound and the spine is strong. overall nice copy.

Spanish travelogue vintage book The Alhambra by Washington Irving, legends and sights of antique Granada, great gift for armchair traveller
