This classically beautiful antique glass fishing float, called 'River Tale' will reel in your imagination. Whether you see yourself roaming through the lavender in a forever lush meadow, or forging through the white caps with sails unfurled - River Tale will provide more than enough inspiration for reverie, even simplest day dreams:)

I love the elegance and courage of this float. It feels heavy and sturdy in the hand, its normal surface wear completely overtaken with the rich luster, high sheen of the antique hand blown glass. Measuring 3-1/8" diameter (the glass) or 10-1/8" in circumference including the width of the net, River Tale shows off its lovely swirls and tiny champagne bubbles.

This very pretty float, in a light transcendent teal blue, also shows an 'imbedded object'. Imbedded objects are coveted by many collectors. These may be bits of rock or sand, tiny wedges of wood, pieces of seaweed, fabric, wire, even oven brick or ash - suspended in time within the magic of glass. I always view an imbedded object as an opportunity to make a wish:) See if you can locate it in photo #1.

River Tale wears an original, authentic net in cotton. This is my favorite type of old cotton twine. It's soft, yet strong, feels like wool yarn it's so lovely. Showing natural wear, the net is tight, fully intact and in terrific condition.

The seal 'button' is a beautiful thing! Wonderfully round in shape, it has been perfectly placed. How is it possible, given the ferocity of the seas, the challenge of the work, the endless journeys over decades of service at sea - for a simple glass seal to remain undamaged? Yet here is the miracle - a good enough reason to make another wish! The surround edge on the seal is perfect. No chips, no nicks, no grazing. MINT condition!

Thank you for helping to care for vintage fishing floats which are rapidly being replaced with plastic or synthetic floats.

SHIPPING: Happy to offer Priority shipping for this float. It will be double boxed with extra insulation for maximal protection of its antiquity while in transit. The cost is $9.50. This includes your tracking number and insurance. It will be packed with absolute care. *** Please allow 1 to 3 days to ship and 2 to 3 days for the carrier. You should receive it in a week or less. If you need it quicker, tell me and I’ll ship it fast! ***

COMBINED SHIPPING: Yes - I will combine! Floats of generally similar size & weight can be combined so you save on shipping. These decisions are made at the actual time of packing, using my best judgment to keep items safe from damage in transit, protecting them maximally. Best option is to pay the shipping on each item up front. A shipping refund will be issued promptly via Paypal when your parcels are complete. My customers will confirm I am happy to do this. If this doesn’t work for you, convo for a ‘guesstimate’ on combined shipping of items.

CANADA: USPS has omitted insurance from the economy (1st Class International) shipping category. Priority International is the next best available method yet not cost effective in my opinion, unless purchasing two or three items & combining shipping. Please convo for a quote if interested. My sincere apologies!
