Hand stitched, patchwork / boro komebukuro. Many fabrics used, including ikat / kasuri.

Estimated at Meiji era. This was used to carry rice.

Komebukuro are rare and highly sought after. I am very happy to have found two!

I added thin thread to show how the bag fastens. However, the original is missing.

When opened and laid flat it is 42cm wide at the top and 40cm deep.
