MAGNIFICENT VINTAGE HERMES "Le Timbalier" in pale blue or gray-blue with golds and cream prominent in this color palette. Designer, Francoise Heron is credited with this fabulously designed scarf. This color may be quite rare as I have not located another "Le Timbalier" in this color. There only two minute pin holes I could find when examining for condition and photo #4 was the best I could capture them for you.

Scarves are all the rage again and nothing can compete with a remarkable vintage HERMES PARIS 100% silk designer scarf!!!!

"Hermes Paris" trademark copyright at the bottom lower left. This scarf is from the personal estate of a French lady.

You may want a brief history of the Timbalier: "Timbalier", or timpanist, in action sitting on his decorated mount. The horse-mounted timpani can be traced back to the 12th century Middle East, and was brought to continental Europe by Crusaders and Saracens in the 13th century. In the 15th century, Europeans started to incorporate timpani into their cavalry and, paired with a trumpeter, were mainly used to announce the arrival of the armies. As empires gave way to royal courts, the timpani and trumpet were used by emperors, dukes and others of high rank to emphasize the importance of their social rank. Those who possessed timpani were an exclusive group which meant that timpanists themselves were only allowed to be employed by nobility. As a result, guilds were formed by timpanists and trumpeters and members were treated as an elite group."
