For this headband Peace Crown, I have used vintage black and green Hmong embroidery that has a blue-black base color. This black Hmong work is getting harder and harder to find, but it is some of my favorite vintage embroideries. For the top and bottom edges, I have used a soft cotton barkcloth of greens, blacks and ecru and then that same fabric becomes the lining. This can actually be worn reversed with the barkcloth turned to the outside. I have lightly padded this headband for comfort. It is basically a hat without a top.

This measures 21" - 26" in circumference and will fit nearly anyone since it ranges from small to extra large in size. There is a Velcro closure at the back for easy adjustment. The last photo shows the nature of that Velcro closure I use in these headbands.

I have worked to make a kind of headband that does not squish against your head uncomfortably, yet stays in place. It looks great on folks with short or long hair and works equally well for both men and women.

In all of my work, I always consider it important to honor the handiwork by artists of the past and the variety of materials themselves.

My versatile accessories work equally well with casual jeans, funky outfits and dressy clothes. They also look great with any kind of hair and any head shape. They also work well with dreads, a scarf or turban.

Some people wear the hats and headbands high on their head and above the ears; others wear them low on the head and over the tips of the ears. They look great both ways.

I can make adjustments to anything that you like, but need a different size. Just send me a note and tell me what you need. Customizing for you is no problem at all. Please take a look at my positive feedback.

For reference, traditional hat sizes range like this:
21 ½” - 22 ½” is small to medium
22 ½” -23 ½” is medium to large
23 ½ - 25 is large to extra large

By the way, CleoWolfusDesigns creates the dreadfalls shown with my hats here on Etsy. I wear her dreadfalls with my hats often. They work great together. Check her out!
