This spicy batt offers smooth wool with textured silk, giving the final yarn a tweed look. The buttery-soft Cormo wool and natural black alpaca were carded until smooth, and then the Sari Silk was added for the last two passes through the carder to ensure even distribution across the batt.

Cormo is related to Merino and is easily next-to-skin soft; as is alpaca. The Sari silk comes from the traditional Saris worn by women in India. The garments are shredded and recycled into bright, colorful, shiny fibers. The red (bordering on pink) of the Cormo shouts "spicy" to me: it's bright and full of energy.

As with all my batts, I washed, dyed and carded the wool myself from raw fleece, and it was purchased from a small farm. I use professional grade acid dye (the acid is vinegar). This fiber will felt.

**The Tour de Fleece: A Dyeing Wish (http://ADyeingWishFiberArts.etsy.com) and Inspiration Fibers (http://inspirationfibers.etsy.com) have joined forces for the Tour de Fleece on Ravelry. We are Team Dyeing Inspirations! The Tour de Fleece is a challenging, 22-day spinning marathon that follows along with the Tour de France. This year’s tour runs from June 30th to July 22nd. If they spin, we spin. If they have a rest day, we rest. During the tour, spinners challenge themselves with new techniques and new fiber experiences. Join the team here: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/team-dyeing-inspirations-tdf. **

**During the Tour de France, the climbers are sporting polka dots. Are you up for the climb? If so, then breakaway from the pack and do something different with these super fun art batts. These highly textured art batts will work great for the Bulkiest Art Yarn Challenge. Don’t forget to check out separate listings for locks! Locks can be used to add a lot bulk to your yarns….just saying. Need to work through a new art yarn technique? Then these batts are perfect for you. Keep checking both shops as we add more to our inventory! **
