On this limited edition risograph art print, a girl in a coracle watches her friend the seal. The seal somersaults in the water, watching their friend in the coracle. The girl's coat has the same texture as the seal's fur - she is a selkie!

This A5 size riso print will bring a calm and dreamy atmosphere to your home. The iconic risograph grain combines with the traditional dot-screen texture to give it a charming vintage appeal in a really contemporary fashion. The punchy yet calming colours make it an ideal gift for everyone who likes a fun twist on folktales and stories of the sea. The Selkie is a character from Celtic folklore, who can shapeshift into a seal with her sealskin coat.

Risograph is a unique printing process straddling the divide between printing by hand and machine-printing, and is best described as screenprinting with a photocopier. Its bright inks made from rice bran oil (a waste-product from the rice industry) and the low-energy cold printing onto uncoated (usually recycled) paper not only give it a very distinctive look but also make it a really sustainable and environmentally friendly printing process!
The nature of the process is such that there will be slight differences in ink coverage and registration, which ensures no two prints are the same and makes for its charm and popularity. The colours may also differ slightly from the colours on your screen.
