This Dione Lucas cookbook was a supplement to the Australian Women's Weekly magazine in the 1950s to coincide with her Australian tour. According to page 3, she was brought out by the magazine and held cooking demonstrations in department stores across the nation, as well as appearing on television "a big difference between her last tour and this one".

The 64 page booklet contains scores of recipes for hors d'oeuvres, entrees, soups, fish, meat, poultry, vegetables, desserts, souffles, salads and more.
I think the best aspect of this book are the wonderful 1950s advertisements, most of which feature endorsements from Ms Lucas. There are ads for: Gas, Continental Soups, Sunbeam Mixmaster and electric frypan, Greenseas salmon and tuna, Nestle, Imperial Trim pork & beef luncheon meat, Gay Ware kitchen aids, Alfoil, Champion's malt vinegar, Golden Circle pineapple, Brown & Polson's corn flour, Nescafe, Metters stoves, Davis gelatine, Australian Cream of Tartar, Pyrex cookware, Lux liquid detergent and the Dairy Industry Bureau.

The booklet is in good condition with just a water stain to front cover and a little wear to ends of spine. All pages are intact and clean.

Measures 7 x 10 inches.

A great piece for collectors of vintage advertising and ephemera.
