In many beloved stories, dragons are considered magical and the design in this blanket looks very much like the scales one might see on a baby dragon.
This simple-to-knit pattern works up quickly in any soft worsted weight (level 4) yarn. The one pictured was made with Berocco Comfort (#9811, Multi-Baby) and requires about 600 yds. The model shown is a doll similar in size to an 8 lb infant.

The pastel blanket shown is a sample only and not a full complete blanket. Finished project measures approximately 36" x 40" depending on your individual tension and the yarn you choose to use. The blue blanket pictured was knitted with Cascade 220 Superwash Paints in blue. I don't think that particular yarn color is available any longer so I'm working up another in a current yarn from a different vendor.

The project is worked using size 9US 36" circulars. The construction is simple and yet interesting enough that you'll want to make more!

You'll need to have the following skills: Cast on, Knit, Purl, Yarn over, Bind Off.
Gauge is approximately 14 stitches in 4"
I recently updated the pattern to include yarn requirements for 3 different size blankets: 18x16" Lovey, Standard 30x36" and Crib size 36x44"

It is important to note the difference between row 2 and 4 of the design portion of the pattern. I've some instances where it wasn't understood that these two rows are different and the design doesn't turn out looking like the photograph.

There is a matching beanie pattern available too for those who enjoy creating a set. I'm always working up new things in which to use this stitch so watch for new releases! These make a great baby shower gift and hospitals welcome them as donations for newborns. The pattern is easily converted to a smaller size using size 6 needles and DK weight yarn.

No shipping fees as this pattern is downloadable as a PDF. Once Etsy confirms your payment, you should have access to it. Please contact me directly if you have any problems getting it. I'm happy to email a copy to you if that is a better way for you.

Thank you for your interest in my designs! Check back often as I'm always creating new things.
