This is a historical reproduction of an early 16th century Tudor or "French" gown, done in silk taffeta and brocade.

Actual colors/fabrics will depend on what I have in stock/what we can order. Please send us a convo for details.

The pattern for this dress has been developed using historical references, wiht a few minor adjustments for ease of wear/modern convenience. It is suitable for SCA, theater, and general faire use. If you need approval from a costuming director, please feel free to share this with him/her before placing your order in case any modifications are needed.

The ensemble listed here includes the silk gown which laces closed in the front, and stomacher which attaches through hooks and eyes to cover the front lacings. The bodice is lined in canvas and is steel boned to provide support and shape. The large turn-back sleeves are also lined in silk, and are basted onto the bodice at the shoulder. They are constructed in such a way that you can remove them easily if you need to, and/or add lacing rings.

The skirt is pleated and attached to the bodice, and hemmed by hand in the front with a self-facing so it appears to be lined (though it is not lined).

The underskirt is made of cotton with a front panel of brocade, and an elastic or draw-string waistband.

Interior seams are all hand-finished or serged, final hemming is left for you to do after trying on the dress with all your underpinning.

Chemise, farthingale, and jewelry are not included but are available separately.

This dress will be made to fit you in about 4-6 weeks. (If we need to order fabric, it may take a bit longer).

Please send the following measures with payment:

Bust (fullest part of your chest)
Waist (bottom of your ribcage)
Waist to floor length
Nape of neck to waist length (taken in the back)

Be sure to have all of your under pinnings on when measuring yourself!

Layaway and payment options available.
