A 4 3/4" tall MINIATURE WESTERN antique WHISKEY bottle.

A very early cork top bottle, dating back 100 years old or more.

Bottle has some scattered content haze, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.

This is a sample whiskey bottle that contained the equivalent of a shot glass. It is an exact replica of the highly sought after western cylinders that are usually in the fifth (1/5th of a gallon) size, except this one is in a 1/10th pint size. Though these are found throughout the United States, they were most commonly used out west and some collectors of western bottles specialize in these miniatures.

About the beautiful deep amethyst color ... this is a naturally occurring process with early clear glass. Exposure to the ultra violet sun rays triggers a chemical reaction and the minerals oxidize and turn a wonderful lavender color. Anyway, this whiskey flask has been exposed to a high heat/light source that simulate the ultra violet rays, to rapidly enrich the purple color that would naturally occur if exposed to sun light for a prolonged period of time. As a child I had 100's of old bottles out on the roof of the house turning purple in the sun. I experimented with this purpling process for decades and found that it was mainly liquor and food bottles that would the darkest purple in the shortest amount of time. It would take maybe ten years of exposure to the sunlight to turn this purple! With few exceptions, only clear glass from before 1914 will turn sun-colored-amethyst. Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make it a great looking bottle, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique.

A totally cool looking little antique western whiskey bottle!

Antique tiny old sample WESTERN WHISKEY bottle deep sun colored purple bottle. Miniature Western Whiskey Cylinder.
