Is this a shy hedgehog with his friends? Or is he foraging about looking for bugs to eat? This collection of Hedgerow animals and hedgerow plant materials were printed as part of a larger body of work studying Devon Hedgerows. These plants are foraged from Devon hedgerows, carefully inked and arranged around the drypoint plates before passing through the etching press with damp cotton paper to create a unique one off artwork. Featured on this print you will find a hedgehog, a stag beetle, a scorpion fly, a carder bee and a long eared bat, plus a lovely piece of dog rose.

This body of work celebrates the local bio-diversity.

This print is a one of a kind and is signed in pencil.

Paper size = 31.5cm x 22cm (12 ½ inches x 8 ¾ inches)

See the Drypoint section in my shop for more prints in this range.

This artwork was conceived and created solely as an original fine art print. Unlike a gicleé print or any other computer print out, none of my prints are reproductions of a pre-existing painting or drawing.

I like to use top quality heavy weight paper this one is Somerset 100% cotton, Velvet, 300gm (140lbs) so It is best not to roll up prints for posting, especially when the printing process results in a fair amount of embossing. I will therefore only ship my prints flat and protected with card.
