I love archeology, artifacts and history of ancient man. I'm into studying "Points" and the different techniques and material used to make them. I happened upon Etsy member Desert Knapper and his traditional handmade Points.

This is my version of a Solutrean camp , and using Oregon drift wood for a camp bench and mini stumps for seats and the fire pit is of Oregon beach rocks. The Mojave inspired Atlatl dart is made of SUPER beautiful figured Oregon Maple and has gold, black and brown hues, handmade by myself and then a hand knapped " point " of Agate with a crystal vein, knapped by Desert Knapper, was notched in and tied traditionally with waxed artificial sinew.

Total length is 7 1/8 " with the shaft part of the dart at 5 1/2".

So who are these Solutreans ??? Well lets just say as of 6/11/2012 there is nothing in Etsy search " Solutrean ". ;) Their knapping technique was SUPER advanced and there are recent finds here in the USA that are being traced to..... France. And not to mention 14,000+ years BP ( Before Present). Here is a awesome MUST WATCH production on YouTube to become familiar with what I will be offering in the future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZrXQy2tJDw
