Cone 6, electric fired, porcelain, carved slip trailed

A flower brick is a type of vase. The architectural pattern in this flower brick is cut all the way through to allow for interesting flower arranging opportunities while the bottom is deep enough to hold water.

My flower bricks are inspired by Buddhist monuments, called stupas, found all over Asia. Each is unique but they all reflect my love of architecture and my Asian heritage.

This flower brick makes an ideal centerpiece, either full of fresh or dried flowers or simply as an interesting piece of sculpture.

Each piece is thrown on the potter's wheel. As the pieces dry, I carve and then slip-trail each piece by hand. No molds or stamps are used in the process. All of my work is lead-free and food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
