This beautiful hand-carved wooden spatula is made from solid Wild Cherry hardwood. It is about 11 inches long with a blade size of approx 2 inches wide. The business end has a curved blade which is sharp, rounded and tappered so it is prefect for sauteing, stir frying in the pan or cracking eggs with a karate chop. Plus, since it is solid hardwood it will not scratch your expensive cookware. The handle has a smooth, ergonomic shape so it feels good in the hand for daily use.

Solid Wild Cherry wood is prized for it's gorgeous salmon pinkish red coloring contrasted by darker growth ring patterns and is definitely one of my favorite woods to work with. A good example of the red coloring is shown in pic's #1 and #3 (enlarged).

This spatula has been sanded to 1200 grit then finished with an all-natural food-safe mineral oil and beeswax blend. It has also been conditioned to prevent "fuzzing" when it gets wet.

Care for this spatula is easy. Simply hand wash with warm soapy water, rinse, towel dry well, then apply either mineral oil, lemon oil or walnut oil to keep it looking and feeling new. Done on a regular basis (about every 2 weeks) this wooden spatula will look like new for years to come.
