This is a custom label order for this quilt I made for Jackie. She wanted me to personalize the quilt as a present for her parents anniversary gift.

Custom Order for Jackie. Do not purchase if you are not Jackie.

Jackie came to me and asked for a custom quilt for a special anniversary gift. She requested an
India themed quilt in shades of "light blue, navy blue and gold". She said she trusted my creative artistry and let me have free rein of the design! I was so honored, but nervous!!!!!

How did I do??

I envisioned a Bollywood look quilt, in rich sapphire shades accented with pops of sari-inspired jewel tones, all accented with gold.

I let these gorgeous fabrics do most of the work on this elegant, rich 55" x 72" throw quilt.

Half medallions border the inside panel which is made up of different 'tile' look fabric appliqued onto the midnight star/sky background. The center circle is a beautiful intricate print fabric, in shades of greens, golds and peacock blues, appliqued with gold thread. I used a gold cording on some of the appliques to make them pop!

I appliqued the same 'tile' look fabrics on the top and bottom of the quilt. A different, yet coordinating midnight blue fabric is the background.

The first border is a delightful pale blue which provides visual relief for an otherwise darker quilt.

The outside borders are made of a beautiful tassle and cord and be-jeweled looking fabric, seemingly wrapping up this quilt like a beautiful present!!

I used a buttery soft batik inspired circular print fabric in shades of blues as the backing. The binding is still another starry night blue fabric. I cut the corners on the diagonal to add more interest, joining the two different borders with a blue solid fabric.

Many different fabrics make up this unique quilt - all adding interest, dimension and texture!

I quilted the center medallion with a free motion quilting; the half circles in an echo stitch quilting; the 'tile' look fabrics I quilted around the floral motifs in a free motion stitch.
The inner starry night fabric I used a feather stencil which I hand stenciled and stitched out. I wavy stitched other parts of the quilt to add movement.

I machine quilt every inch to two inches on my quilts which involves a tremendous amount of stops and starts and thread changes. I quilt on my home sewing machine (which can LITERALLY be a pain in the neck (and arms-and back!) with some of my larger quilts!!) using chalked stencil markings or free motion quilting which I make up along the way. This takes a super amount of time which I have to make up for in my pricing, but I think well worth the extremely personal touch.

I, and only I , have touched my quilts and worked it at every step of the process..from dreaming at 2 a.m. of your new quilt - from fabric shop -to planning -to cutting - to stitching - to finishing - to packaging - to you!!!!

I used Warm and White 100% cotton batting - the fabric is 100% cotton also. The cording a poly/rayon mix.

Gentle cold machine wash, no bleach, gentle warm dry or lay flat to dry.
Your quilt will get softer and softer with use and lots of love!
I have not prewashed this quilt...but it will wash up beautifully, as do all my quilts, acquiring that antique -y puckery look.

I can ship internationally but because of the high costs I have only guesstimated the shipping below. I would let you know exactly how much it would be before I entered into a transaction with you to be fair.

My sewing studio is away from the rest of the home - we do have a beautiful cat but he never comes near my quilts - though he would love to!! We have a complete smoke-free environment.

If desired I can personalize a label with custom embroidery for the recipient from info supplied by the buyer which can be attached to the bottom right hand corner of the back of the quilt for an additional $20.00.

Frequently asked questions about TrueloveQuiltsForYou

At this time I am unable to accept any Custom orders
Most of my quilts are not prewashed so you can expect shrinkage of both cotton and cotton batting up to 3% with the first washing. Washing should be done on a gentle delicate slow cycle, cold washing, no bleach, mild detergent, lay flat to dry and tumble every 15 minutes to fluff. Handwashing is highly recommended for optimal care of a quilt.
My quilts are usually not a standardized bed size. The fabric 'speaks' to me telling me just how small or large it wants the quilt to turn out! :)
Many of my quilts are a large throw size although I have made both larger and smaller as well as table topper size. All sizes are listed to the inch in the item description. Because my quilts are bound and finished, I am unable to make them larger, as has been requested many times.
