This is an old antique / vintage Eyre and Spottiswoode of London paint box. Eyre & Spottiswoode, Ltd. was the London based printing firm that was the King's Printer, and subsequently, after April 1929, a publisher of the same name. The box is made of tin metal and the 10 paint pots inside are ceramic. The inside lid has a copper metal plate that says, Eyre and Spottiswoode London. The outside side of the box has another metal plate that says, By Royal Letters Patent. This box measures 7 inches in legnth and 3 inches in width. It needs a good clean. I just was not sure what to use so I will leave that up to the new owner. This paint box has so so much character!!
