This is a 108-bead wrist japa mala, made of 6mm redwood beads and finished by a natural jade "lulu tong" guru bead with two jade beads on either side. Lulu means "every path“ and tong means "open".

These beads are strung on stretchy cord which can wrap around and fit a variety of wrists. Being 6mm, these smaller beads can easily go around one's neck without being too bulky. Going on a journey with a full 108 is also made easier with this type of mala (on a wrist, neck or pouch). In other words, it's great for it's portability and ease of use!

The mala is strung on 4-strand fabric covered elastic, making it extra durable. The lulu tong guru measures about 17mm, or 11/16" in length.

(this mala is similar to the ones Tibetans wrap around their wrists)

An oriental satin pouch is included for you to safely store your mala.

For other mala options, please see "Malas" section:

A mala is traditional from eastern and southeastern Asia.
