Traub brothers is one of my favorite US makers of Art Deco era jewelry....they were based in Detroit and were known for their very fine designs and wonderful quality. This is one of their earlier pieces from the well known and collected "Orange Blossom" line....

Crafted of solid platinum, this is a lovely eternity style band that was originally a wedding band. It has a stylized design of carved orange blossoms that go around the entire outside of the band. Both the orange blossoms and the milgrain work show wear, but much less wear than I often see....it is still very graceful, pretty and detailed.

The band is slender (but very sturdy) and is approximately 2 mm wide and approximately 1.5 mm thick.

The inside is still marked with the double "T" logo of Traub Brothers, "Orange Blossom" and for iridium platinum. (Iridum is a member of the precious platinum family and was added to platinum of this era to add strength, hardness and a whiter color to platinum. It's a premium alloy that is only used by a few high end makers today due to it's cost.) The total weight of the ring is a nice 2.90 grams.

The band is just over a size 4.75 on my ring mandrel and could not be sized without interrupting the pattern. Because it is slender, it also fits my size 5 finger, though snugly.

*** A copy of an original 1929 magazine advertisement for Traub Orange Blossom rings will accompany this ring to it's new home...one of the rings pictured looks much like this band! ***

This would be a wonderful wedding band to complement an older engagement ring....or would be wonderful as a stacking ring, too.....it happens to fit me perfectly so, I have to admit that I am tempted to keep this one for myself!

Please convo with questions and Thanks for looking!
