From rags to riches, literally. The cover for this notebook is made from a rag which was used to clean paint off rollers and letters (the rag itself came from a hostel in our building, where it previously served as a pillowcase). The colors blend and create unique patterns which are perfect for that dreamy diary.

There is a practical reason as for why we don't just discard rags but leave them around to dry — printing inks are based on linseed oil and we use turpentine for cleaning. Look up spontaneous combustion if you need more information. We had it happen once and now all dirty rags hang on clotheslines before we either make them into notebooks or throw them away (who would need a million black notebooks, I wonder?).

As for the contents - the paper is called Cyclus Ofset and as the name implies, it is recycled. For that reason, it has a slightly greyish hue and there are occasional dark specs of raw material visible here and there. The weight is 90 gsm, or very close to normal office paper, but the paper is thicker, so it feels more solid. It is good for writing and can be used for drawing as well.
