This bracelet was created using a rare coloured rhinestone – Alexandrite, which is often referred to as the “colour-changer” rhinestone. These fascinating rhinestones play tricks on the eye as the intensity and source of light changes their colour. Depending on the light source – natural, incandescent or fluorescent – their colour changes, from lavender to light blue, and is quite magical. Because of this, their natural and varying colours are very difficult to photograph. The pictures I've attempted to take just don't capture the beauty of these stones.

These stones are getting harder and harder to find and, because of that, their cost is more than the “average” coloured vintage rhinestone. Using Swarovski rhinestones, I’ve created a huge cuff bracelet using 15mm x 7mm navettes, 10mm x 8mm and 7mm x 5mm, 24ss and 20ss chatons in this intoxicating colour. A push-in pressure clasp holds this bracelet firmly in place, with the added security of a safety chain. To finish it off, it has been electroplated in silver, which brings out the beauty and sparkle of these particular stones. This large cuff bracelet measures 6 7/8” long (wearable length) by 1¾” wide; and is in new, unworn condition.

Note: Any golden tinges of colour on the silver-plating that at times show up in the photos are reflections from the bracelet’s surroundings when photographed. This is not any indication of a yellowing of the silver-plated finish.

A bit about the process: I make every effort to construct quality pieces, using only high quality stones and settings. Each piece is made up of stones and quality settings, that I solder together and then hand-set – a process that is very expensive and time consuming; some of the bracelets take up to 16 hours to complete using stones costing upwards of $6 each. The electroplating is done professionally by a very knowledgeable small, family-owned company in Canada. Their expertise is evident in the finish of each piece that is sold by PrairieArtisan.

Layaway is available to make your purchase manageable.

Shipping costs on this piece includes tracking and insured shipping through Canada Post. Bracelet will be packaged in a proper bracelet box for shipping and storage.
