This patriotic colourway is dyed in three stripes of Royal Blue, bright red and white. This hand dyed yarn comes conveniently already balled up.

STRIPES: 0.5” (1.25 cm)
My standard stripe width of approximately 6 rows of knitting. To give you a guide the sample sock was 64sts wide/tension 16 sts = 2” (5 cm).

YARN BASE: Tangy Sock
75% Superwash Wool/25% Nylon. This is a lovely yarn, soft but very hard wearing. It is blended with a small amount of nylon to give it extra strength and durability, making it ideal for socks. This yarn can also be used for any pattern calling for a 4 ply/fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLES: 2-2.75 mm (US 0-2)
LENGTH: Approx 400m (437 yards)
WEIGHT: 100g

The undyed base yarn is machine washable on a gentle 30 degree wash, however I personally would recommend hand washing all hand painted/hand dyed yarn in luke warm water with a gentle, wool-friendly soap powder, in order to retain shape, colour and longevity.
