Cute hard to find little foam sponge Hawaiian hula girl offered by C & H Sugar as a promotional item sometime in the 1970s.

She appears to be made of soft pillow-form type spongy foam covered in a printed, moderately coarse terrycloth, which suggests she may have originally been meant to be used in the bath. Same design on both sides. 6” tall (22cm).

She has some snags and wear from age and use, most notably a small hole near her temple on one side, and another on the same side down by her hip, along with a couple pulls in the fabric. Other side is in much nicer shape and would be the one to display.

Not recommended as a child’s toy or bath sponge anymore, as her fabric and foam are becoming somewhat fragile with age, would be positively sweet in a display.

Colors are nice and bright. No identifying tags, presumably a mail order promotional piece when they introduced their animated characters.
