A sleek mid century German Modernist porcelain coffee service from Arzberg in the 2025 pattern range, decorated in a multi-colored orange, green and blue dot - line pattern (Dekor 3040) called "Color" ("Kolorit" in German.) Designed by Heinrich Loffelhardt and Stephen Eusemann, late1950s.

More Details:

The set includes a coffee urn or carafe with lid, covered sugar, and an open creamer, all in very fine condition. No chips, cracks or repairs, and few signs of wear. As if they were found in a time capsule, or spent the past sixty-plus years on display in a Danish Modern china cabinet.

German porcelain manufacturer Arzberg introduced its lyrically beautiful Bauhaus "Form 2025" range in the year 1957. "Form 2025" was designed by Heinrich Lõffelhardt; the decoration 3040 on this set (called "Color") was the design of Stephan Eusemann, a color theorist and designer who worked for Arksberg in the 1950s. ( "Form 2025" is the name given by
Arzberg to the coherent group of ceramic shapes that comprised a single porcelain dinner service. The various ways that set could be decorated were also individually named. "Form 2025" was offered in white (without surface decoration) and also in a small number of decorated versions.)

Form 2025 was widely acclaimed for its modernist design, winning the "Goldene Medaille" at the 11th Milan Triennale. The coffee carafe in this set bears a gilt stamp noting the 1957 design award.

If you're interested in collecting a set of vintage mid-century modern porcelain dinnerware of the highest physical quality, with an unimpeachable Bauhaus design pedigree, you can't do better than German porcelain from Arzberg.
