My latest homage to Hayao Miyazaki. Totoro has always been distinguished in my mind as one of the best portrayals of very young sisters--both the petty jealousies and annoyances that separate them and the imaginative worlds that bring them together, a timeless element like that of Alice in Wonderland. But the animistic lore of Japan, the investment of spiritual power and spiritual beings in nature, is what brings Totoro and his fellow creatures to life beyond just cute characters. I could go on!

Instead, I'll just say that I hope you like this piece. I tried to put all the magic of green and growing things into it.

This is a 12x18 photo print on lustre photo paper and will come packed in a clear sleeve and rolled in a poster tube.

nerdy art and children's illustration with pop culture sensibilities by The Gorgonist!
