This leaf sculpture is a reproduction of an oak leaf that fell near the shop in the autumn. This is not a textbook representation, or a triangle with veins. Rather, this was an individual leaf on its way to the compost pile. The original leaf is crumbling away and headed to the vegetable garden. The form of this leaf in steel will now last for decades. The original pattern leaf is shown in the pictures.

The stem is formed into a hook to hang as an ornament, or to elevate the leaf when displayed on a shelf.

The 16 gauge steel plate was chiseled out by hand with custom tools. The veins are hammered in using chasing chisels. The leaf and stem are formed from a single sheet. An antique finish is applied for a rich autumn rust color. The finish is sealed with a mixture of boiled linseed oil and beeswax from our own bee hives.

6.75”x4.75". Every leaf is unique due to the hours of chiseling and hammering required.
