This vintage Perma Plaque is an image of the U.S. Capitol Building, which is one of the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and House of Representatives have been meeting there for over two centuries. Starting in 1793, it has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended and restored. This is most likely how it appeared in the 1950s. It was mounted by Perma Plaque and is stamped with its gold seal that says, "sold in all 50 states and many foreign countries, a genuine Perma Plaque Mfg. by Perma Plaque, Corp., Hollywood, Calif., Registered U.S. Pat. Office". Also on the back is their patented Sta-Strate Hanger which "has been designed to use with your perma plaque".

This plaque measures 11" x 13" and weighs about 2 lbs. The image is sealed on Mahogany wood. Over the years it has acquired some scrathes; the worst is across the building about 5" on and off and their are several holes in the finish as well. Look at Picture 5 to see damage closer. Picture 2 makes the wood look black, but the color is actually true to the first picture.
