The striking map is so colorful with it's blues and yellow. It is marked 1950 and has the artists' name, but I can't make out the proper spelling due to the cursive style writing. (will continue to research it, tho!)

The historic facts and tidbits are so fun to read. It states, "Discovered by Pineda in 1519, settled by Bienville in 1702 Four hundred years of romance and adventure, bequeathed by the native Maubila Indians, the Spanish Conquistadors, the French Voyageurs, the British Settlers, the Yankee Invaders and the Confederate Defenders have lent to Mobile and her famous Bay a gracious charm to add to her many opportunities of a fresh and salt water port."

The wonderful drawings of marine life, fowl, ships, landmarks, crops and even shipwrecks are just amazing. Get your treasure hunting on! The map is bordered with scallop shells, so delicately drawn and a rope with two anchors holding it all together.

This map would look great in your home! It measures 17 x 22 and was professionally framed in a black wood frame. I could remove it, if you desire. It would save on shipping.

I apologize for the glare. I will attempt better pics, later.
