This is one beautiful antique Art Nouveau jewelry casket! (jewelry box) Done very much in the style of Alphonse Mucha. The silver plating has a gorgeous dark patina. There are six beautiful women's faces, all with long flowing hair, done in repousse. They cover the box! Very unusual to find so many faces on one box. This beauty dates to around 1880 to 1900. A treasure indeed!

The inside lid has it's original silk lining and the bottom has what looks to be a cotton batting. If you gently lift the bottom lining up just a bit, you will find a tiny baby blue fabric flower. I have never seen that before in a jewelry casket. Unusual because I don't think that it was meant to be seen. The box is unsigned, but has the number 139 stamped on the bottom.

Measurements:
4 1/4" wide by 2 1/2" high

Condition:
The silver plating has a very dark and rich patina. There is some wear to the plated finish. Also there is some corrosion on the box. To me, it adds to the beauty. I have not tried to clean the interior because I did not want to disturb the way it is. Nor have I tried to polish the exterior. The exterior has built up this beautiful patina over many years. That aged patina cannot be reproduced once it is gone.

Please keep in mind that colors will vary slightly on different computer monitors.
