The Waterman C/F was introduced in 1953, and is regarded as the first modern cartridge pen. It was one of the last models offered before the company ceased production in the United States, and was designed by Harley Earl, who is probably better known for his automotive design efforts (like the original Corvette). For more information on the model, see http://wp.me/P20IDI-RN

The pen had been refurbished; stripped down to its basic components, cleaned of old ink, and the point put back in shape from a bending in the hands of someone who was not careful about fountain pens. The point is 14k gold, producing a fine line, and is a relatively firm type similar to those found in most high-end pens today. On the writing sample image, the "100" mark is 1mm across to indicate the scale.

There are some cosmetic issues with this pen that mark it as user- rather than collector-grade. Foremost of these is a small dent in the cap just below the clip's mounting point; it is almost visible in the picture showing the pen closed. Apart from this, there is the scuffing a pan accumulates in fifty or sixty years of service, and an almost stereotype corrosion of the trim around the point. None of this prevents the pen from writing as it did when it was new.

A note on shipping; I will not simply thrust a pen into a padded envelope and hope for the best. This item, humble as it is, will receive the same treatment as a rarity, sent out in a box with layered defenses (see http://wp.me/P20IDI-17z section one for a full description of how I wrap things). If the shipping seems high, look to Canada Post's demands. However, shipping more than one pen costs no more; if you buy more than one, one shipping payment covers all, so either wait for an invoice or expect a refund if you pay immediately.
