Description

This is a digital draft-at-home pattern for a stunning French slip from the 1930's. The Slip has a simple v shaped neckline, bust darts, optional embroidery or lace, and can be made in any length.
This slip would be perfect in silk for luxury sleepwear, or great in a cute cotton print for a spaghetti strap dress.

This is a pattern from a French pattern drafting system fairly similar to the Lutterloh golden rule patterns. You will be able to draft a pattern to your exact size from the miniature pattern template and specially designed rulers. To draft any of these special patterns to doll, children, and adult sizes is easy. Rulers are available to draft the pattern as small as a 5 1/2" chest to as large as a 60" chest and the pattern will be scaled perfectly every time.
ALL RULERS ARE INCLUDED AS PRINTABLES WITH THESE PATTERNS.

Don't have a printer? Not a problem! We offer a printing service for these patterns here:
www.etsy.com/listing/196872505

The pattern includes basic markings and notches that show you how they fit together, and indications such as dotted lines for cutting on the fold. I have included several pages of drafting instructions that I have translated from the original French personally. The illustrated instructions show you how to easily draw your pattern pieces from the miniature pattern template using your special ruler.

These patterns were marketed originally to both home seamstresses and professionals alike and assume that you have a basic understanding of clothing construction. The original patterns DO NOT include any sewing instructions. To sew these, you should have a basic understanding of how pattern pieces should fit together. The pattern pieces are illustrated in such a way that you can see how they are supposed to be sewn to each other.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: These patterns might be a bit difficult for the beginner but an intermediate level home seamstress will most likely have little trouble.

What you will need:
Paper (I use large tracing paper but butcher paper, muslin fabric, wrapping paper etc all work great!)
Pencil
Fabric: this pattern requires approximately 3 meters (about 3 1/4 yards).
It's that simple! No special tools are required!

If French is your first language and you would prefer a copy of the instructions in French instead, please let me know. I would be happy to send that too!

Returns and exchange details
There are no returns, cancelations or echanges on digital or paper patterns so please read the item description carefully before purchase.

We do not offer refunds for the following reasons:
--If a customer didn't read the item description and wasn't sure what type of pattern was purchased. Customers are responsible for reading and making sure they understand the item being sold before purchase.

--We do not offer refunds because a pattern is beyond a customer's skill level. If you're not sure how hard a pattern is, please feel free to ask us - we're happy to advise.

Exceptions: You are of course entitled to a full refund if you have purchased a duplicate pattern, or in the case of buying the wrong size, exchanges are always just fine.

Additional policies

If you have any questions about printing:
Please feel free to email us, we'd be happy to help. (mrsdepewvintage@gmail.com).
We get about 100 emails a day so please don't be upset if we can't get to your questions right away. We try to answer all downloading and printing questions right away.

Please note that the purchase of a sewing pattern from Mrs. Depew Vintage entitles you to the following:
- a great sewing pattern that may not be available anywhere else.
- a prompt reply if you have trouble downloading or printing your pattern (digital orders).

Sadly, this does not include a sewing questions help line. If it did, we would have to hire an extra employee and an intern or two. These things would cost quite a bit of money and the cost of patterns would go up, and that would make everyone very sad. If you have a sewing question, there's a chance that we won't be able to get to it. As much as we would like to help every customer with their sewing questions, there just aren't enough hours in the day. That said, you're still very welcome to write in with your sewing questions. We don't mind and when we have a free moment, we try to help if we can. But if you don't get a timely response, please don't take it personally, there just aren't enough hours in the day and Mrs. Depew will crash and burn if she skips any more meals to try answer just one more email...
