***NOTE THE Q AND Y HAVE BEEN SOLD. THE T IS THE ONLY LETTER LEFT. JUST WANTED TO CLARIFY. THANK YOU.***
It is hard to put into words how incredible these are! These antique theatre letters are very hard to find. They were made sometime between 1920 and 1940. I believe them to be on the earlier side of that because of their design. During the time of WW2 metals were in short supply so marquee letters were made of primarily glass so I do believe these to be 1920's or 30's. (The war started in 1939.)They have an incredible patina to them. Just gorgeous! Each panel measures 9 inches tall by 5 inches wide. They are made of metal with an opalescent milk glass insert panel behind. (The T insert is a smooth glass and the Q and Y have a textured glass insert… kind of bumpy.) I can’t help but daydream of what it was like to be walking into the theatre at the point in time when these were in use. I imagine all the people looking so glamorous in their finest clothes and such excitement in the air to be attending the theatre. Sigh. This listing is for the letter "T". Thank You!
