This is a pair of truly lovely vintage pictures in reverse painted black silhouette style and framed in bakelite style frames. They are sweet and simple and will look wonderful in your home. Perfect vintage wall hanging decor for a Bed and Breakfast.

They are in good condition with no scratches, chips or peeling in the paint of either picture. They each are round and measure 4 1/2" across. The bakelite frames are black with a rim of gold around the inside of the frame that edges the picture. Little metal hooks are at the back top of each one for hanging. Backed with black heavy card stock. A few scratches on back card stock which is just normal vintage wear. The backing on one picture is loose and has normal vintage scrapes on the back cover. On this one I was able to see that on the inside bottom of glass it says "Made in Germany". Original paper tag on back of each has numbers 5211-5212 and reads Colonial Greetings, C. & A. Richards Boston, Mass. Research shows that C. & A. Richards Company imported from Germany in the early 20th Century.

One silhouette is of a woman in a lovely colonial Southern style gown with ruffled skirt and lace collar and wearing a fashionable hat. She is greeted by a man holding top hat. The other image is a woman with similar gown and hat and is caring a parasol. The man in this picture is raising his top hat to greet her and has a cane. Definitely a Colonial greeting between a Southern gentleman and a Southern Belle.
