A Rowantrees tea cup from the 1970's in a free form style with lots of character and a chunky handle.

Created in the 1920's, Rowantrees created some of the most sublime pottery from the unique red clay of Blue Hill, Maine. Just recently closed down, this pottery is highly collectible. The glaze color on this work is a delightful grey, fading into a deep black. The White House has a set of Rowantrees dinnerware, bought by the Eisenhower's in this grey glaze color.
