Bicycle Rack with Reclaimed Wood Recycled Bicycle Accessories

The wheel rims left over after I took off all the spokes & spoke nipples were beginning to pile up, so I had to come up with something to do with them! Well, what I've done is to turn them into a sharp looking way to hang your bicycle, all made from recycled wheel rims, spokes and reclaimed wood.

The cradle & horizontal slats are oak from left over flooring rescued from the debris dumpster at a new house construction site. The vertical slats are left over maple from some night stands I made.

The cradle is lined with green felt. All the wood has been sanded smooth and given 3 coats of teak oil, then hand rubbed to a soft luster.

The rack is 18" wide by 15 3/4" high. The projection is 15" from the wall to the outer edge of the top tube cradle. The projection is 13 3/4" on center of the cradle. The cradle is 13 1/2" long.
The holes for the mounting screws are 16" on center so you can mount the rack into the wall studs. (You will want to mount this into wood.)
This this rack can hold 30 lbs. The rims are attached at the bottom with both a bolt and a screw, and the spoke supports run through the wood and out the back where they are anchored securely.

To make sure your bike will fit and the handle bars won't hit the wall, measure from the center of the handle bars out to the end of the grip. If it is less than 13 3/4", it will fit. Also measure the length of the top tube (the under part) to be sure there is room for it to rest comfortably in the cradle. Please take note of the angles where the top tube meets the down tube & seat tube. If your top tube measures close to the 13 1/2" and the angles are sharp, it might not fit.

The bike parts are used and do show signs of wear.
The rack pictured with the bike is not the one for sale, I'm just using the same photo over & over so you can see the rack in action, and so I don't have lug my bike up from downstairs each time I make a new rack.

The shipping cost is per rack. This will ship through the US Postal Service. If you are outside the USA, please let me know where, and I can let you know the shipping cost.
