Large hardback book for women from 1909 called Life Knowledge, a how-to book for women on a variety of topics, all with a Victorian-era slant.

This book, among many other areas, covers: happiness in married life, the monthly phenomenon, Insanity, consumption, courting, hygiene, preparing dainty dishes, chronic constipation, child rearing, beauty, purity, and the figure. Included are illustration plates, both black and white and color, as well as wonderful half tone engravings of douches, meat presses, the child in the womb, feeding cups and much more.

The collage put together in this listing shows a wonderful fold-over found inside of the book of a woman in a dress, which you fold over to reveal the muscles and bones. It seems to me something is missing as there is tape marks -- I suspect this picture might have once have had a fold-out in utero baby, but baby must have moved on.

This book is huge at 470 pages, and for such an old book is in good shape. The spine is loose but has not separated and the pages are whole. I did find scribbles from a blue crayon in a few pages in the index, but fortunately they seem confined to a few pages. I also found a few pages that had key phrases underlined, but again, this is limited to a few pages.
