This roving is reserved for Angel. If you are not Angel, please do not buy it.

Petrified wood is fossilized wood where all organic materials have been replaced by minerals without losing the original stem structure. It occurs when wood has become trapped in an anaerobic environment with access to mineral rich water. The resulting stone has a unique and colorful beauty. This roving is brown and rust with hints of lavender and green.

Merino is the standard by which the fineness of wool is graded and is among the softest fleeces in the world. It’s an old breed, originally brought to the Iberian peninsula in the 12th or 13th century. Being small bodied, it is grown mostly for its exquisite wool. The staple is crimpy and shorter than some other popular breeds, but makes up for that in its legendary softness.

My rovings are dyed with fairly even distribution of colors. Photos are of each side of the coil, so you can see as much of the color as possible. These are the same rovings from which I spin my yarns, so I dye them for that. If you find one missing that hasn’t sold, likely, I’m spinning it. Except for specialty fibers, rovings are priced at $3 an ounce.
