Here is a curious find: an antique medical instrument for measuring blood pressure. Named the Oscillometre Sphygmométrique and invented by Professor Pachon in Paris in the early 1900's, this instrument is the ancestor of the blood pressure meter. It comes with a canvas and leather arm band, a manual pump and a wooden case. There is a piece missing, a rubber hand pump and also the rubber tubes have long vanished. In the inside of the arm band is a piece of natural rubber which has hardened with age, making it impossible to unroll without damaging the rubber. The box is in sound condition, minus some wear on the fabric cover.

This is a great conversation piece, and dare I say it, quite steampunk :) Can be displayed or upcycled in any manner of project.

box measures 10 inches by 4 inches (25 cm by 10 cm)

SHIPPING: This piece is quite heavy (over 5 lbs) and so can only be shipped priority international, which comes with insurance, a tracking number and is quite speedy (3-7 days). This item is not eligible for combined shipping, so sorry.
